Barcelona’s Signature Customized Walking Tour
…and our most unpredictable. You never know what you’re gonna get!
Hi. Explore Barcelona…
When traveling to a new city, I do whatever possible to experience real city life, from chatting with the locals to discovering their favorite shops and restaurants to exploring the neighborhoods and ‘plazas’ my guidebooks skip over. Upon arriving in Barcelona, I began exploring relentlessly, quickly finding fascinating hidden nooks and hearing enticing anecdotes… and so, I never stopped…
Discover the best of Barcelona in our signature (but unpredictable) customized walking tour.
If you want a truly unforgettable Barcelona experience, then I dare you to turn yourself over to us for a day. See how the locals live as you eat, drink, and stroll amongst them for a few hours. But be careful; in my case, a few hours turned into a few weeks, then months, and now, 12 years! Let us know your interests, what you hope to accomplish, and most importantly, how far off- or on- the “beaten track” you’d like us to take you, and leave the rest to us. We’ll choose a couple of neighborhoods for you, then set out together to conquer the very place that awakened my passion for city discovery – and that of most of our team members as well!
This tour is not a General Overview or City Highlights type of tour, unless you’d like it to be – let us know! This is a hands-on, nitty-gritty experience, in which you discover the inner workings of Barcelona, from a non-tourist’s perspective, and dare to go places other touring companies would never take you.

Our Most Popular Tour: The Barrio Gotico
An in-depth experience of Barcelona’s oldest neighborhood.
Undiscovered Corners of the ‘Barrio Gótico’
The historic ‘Barri Gótic’ has been a witness to urban excitement for over 2000 years. The heart of the Gothic Quarter, where the Roman forum once stood, has been the center of Barcelona’s city-life since the year 16 B.C., and remains as dynamic and enthralling today. Lively festivals, open markets, and political demonstrations (some more peaceful than others) add character to its enchanting ‘plazas’ and cobblestoned streets. You’ll stroll by boutiques, bakeries, art galleries, and restaurants that opened their doors before your great-great-great grandparents were born.
We invite you to wander with us through the Gothic Quarter’s maze in this historic tour in Barcelona.
I invite you to wander with us through the Gothic Quarter’s maze of ancient alleyways to discover its most sequestered nooks and majestic medieval relics. If you’re interested, we’ll also include a stroll through the historic Jewish Quarter (or ‘Call’), where we can visit the remains of what’s presumed to be Europe’s oldest synagogue. Depending on your appetite, and the time of year, we’ll often stop during the tour to sample my favorite, traditional mid-afternoon treat: ‘churros con chocolate’, or a cool glass of fresh ‘horchata’, or a ‘tapa’ and some local wine. Taste this neighborhood’s delectable charm!
By choosing the full-day option, you’ll ensure a more comprehensive Barri Gótic experience, along with a more thorough look into some of the other neighborhoods comprising Barcelona’s ‘Ciutat Vella’, or Old City, including the eclectic and alternative Raval, the glamorous and trendy Ribera, and the rustic portside Barceloneta.

Private Gaudí Tours
Come into close contact with Barcelona’s most unique and spectacular attraction: its “Moderniste” architecture.
A Modernist Fantasy
Only in fairy tales and children’s books can you find such a fantastic fusion of colors, shapes, styles, and textures. Though it might seem like these architects were on hallucinogens, there’s actually a method to their madness, precision and symbolism underlying the elaborate decoration, and explanations behind the wild colors and mixed materials. Beware: the most emblematic modernist buildings aren’t always the ones that leave the most lasting impressions! Though the most famous ones are all “must-sees” – no matter how touristy – you should definitely check out the lesser-known ones as well. Gaudí is just the beginning! We’ll teach you how to look at a modernist building and make an educated guess as to whom the architect was.
Discover the greatest modernist architecture Barcelona has to offer by foot or car.
Let us know how on- or off- the “beaten track” you’d like your Modernist Fantasy experience to be. Then, kick back and let us do the work… and enjoy your own, private magical mystery tour. You won’t need LSD to enjoy this trip; you’ll do it the natural way, which is fitting since the Modernists themselves were inspired by nature. Depending on your route, you might travel and dine in the most natural of ways for any Catalán: by metro, and with a mid-day ‘menú del día’ (two homemade dishes, beverage or wine, bread, and dessert or coffee, all for one low price). We often make a stop at the locals’ favorite ‘gelatería’, where you – like we who live here – will take a number and wait your turn to taste the “dulce de leche”, “after eight,” or grapefruit sorbet.
The concentration of Modernist architecture in and around Barcelona is so great, that there is enough to keep you busy for at least a few full days. Though walking tours are popular, by using a car and driver, or choosing the full-day option, you’ll ensure seeing as much as possible, including some of the buildings which are harder to get to, or perhaps even outside of the city.

Tour Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter
Experience the City’s oldest and most enchanting neighborhood… lit up at night!
Barcelona Gothic Nights
As I navigate the Gothic Quarter’s alluring medieval alleyways on my way home at the end of the night, I often feel like I’m trespassing on an abandoned movie set. I’m mesmerized by the bewitching glow of the streetlamps as they dimly light the stone fountains and ancient walls. Just a few streets away, the faint sounds of thousands swilling cocktails and dancing in ‘discos’ entice me to divert from my path.
Experience Barcelona’s oldest neighborhood, the Gothic Quarter, in our private night tour.
Join us for a unique Gothic Night, and enjoy a seductive stroll through the maze of cobblestone streets, impressively-lit churches, and hidden courtyards that make up Barcelona’s most mysterious and historic neighborhood, while encountering, first hand, the bustling Barcelona nightlife amidst relics of a glorious past. We’ll end late, so we definitely recommend a post-tour stop with your guide, to round out the experience with some delicious tapas and a sampling of local wines.

Experience Barcelona in a Day
Great for first-timers or anyone hoping to take in as much as humanly possible, in just one day.
Barcelona in a Day
Barcelona is not the type of city you’d want to attempt to experience fully in just one day. However, we recognize that many of you have limited travel time and other motives for wanting or needing to see it all in a short amount of time.
So, we’ve designed a comprehensive, two-part tour just for you! In this tour, you’ll see the old, the new, the high, the low, the wet, the dry, and everything in between, not to mention all of the major sights that combine to make Barcelona the wonderfully unusual city it is.
We’ve designed a comprehensive, two-part tour to help you cover Barcelona in a day.
Part One, in the morning, consists of a driving tour, in which you, your guide, and driver will set out on a sensational city-wide adventure. You’ll obtain a spectacular general overview of Barcelona and sense of the city’s layout, while riding by the main modernist architectural gems and other city highlights, such as the beach and harbors, and areas harder to reach on foot. You’ll stop briefly 3-4 times along the way to enjoy short strolls and closer looks at a couple of the monuments you wouldn’t want to just drive by, not to mention admire sweeping panoramic views from two of Barcelona’s most breathtaking lookout points. For lunch, we’ll take you to one of our favorite local joints, where the hope is that you won’t run into any other tourists, and where your guide will offer a hand in ordering and describing a selection of tasty local delights (remember, everyone pays for his or her own food and drink, unless otherwise arranged in advance!).
Once you’ve rested, filled your bellies, and re-energized, you’ll embark on Part Two of this full-day escapade, in which you’ll explore the oldest and most enchanting neighborhood of Barcelona on foot: the Gothic Quarter. Here, you’ll meander through the maze of medieval alleyways to discover charming hidden courtyards, imposing palaces and cathedrals, and other famous “must-sees”, such as ‘Las Ramblas’ and the ‘Boqueria’ market.
What more could you ask for in one day? A wonderful city overview in the morning by car, a traditional lunch, and an afternoon of delving deep into the historic neighborhoods, explorable only on foot.
In order to live up to its name, “Barcelona in a Day!”, this tour is meant to be a two-part, full-day experience. However, if you’re interested, you can also opt for the driving portion only, which would be a half-day City Highlights type of tour.
